4 more days before road trip to Maine

I will be packing/cooking/cleaning again and packing...notice that was written Xs two........... We are taking the dogs...the 12 year old golden will stay home with my #1 son. He can not get off....Keep the house clean pleeeaaasssseee. PF has a talk and will not be back until late Thursday and we leave in the very early morning of Friday...secret business...

I will post pictures when I return....I hope I don't get carried away and stay there.....as I do love the area.

This is a rug I completed that an 80 some year old woman had started. If you look close you'll see boo boos.....makes it more interesting. Rug of pain is done.....will show picture later..........

Bathroom fixed thank you very much

By golly, I fixed the damn thing! It took three trips to various stores but it is done.....crack in the pipe underneath to the drain. I had no idea one uses putty to put a drain in..go figure..50 dollars total spent and ten thousand hours of my time....I did learn as I went....thank heavens for time life books my husband got maybe 30 years ago. He never used them...I covet them and I hope I spelled that right! I remember many years back in 1992 having a wee babe stuck to my breast and decided I would change a toilet. Now, PF he said, get a plumber..not I, as I am cheap...(kind of)...I got my handy dandy time life book of toilet info and wrote all the specifics down. Went to Moore's remember them, are they still open? I told said male clerk with baby stuck to me what my plans were and he laughed. I was in very small townville and well, we womanfolk make babies and cook...or so they thought. It took me all the damn day but I got that toilet in and I even changed the connection. ..it was a water saver toilet too!! You know what ..I was the first to use it..I was proud. Of course when changing the seal, etc..I forgot to cover the hole and nearly passed out from the methane gas..my oldest came in and saved me..kind of..you know... Mom put the towel over the hole.......

Birthday

It is my BABY'S Birthday, July 6.....only trouble that baby will turn 16. Where do all the years go?! He was always going to marry me when he was very young. I was his girlfriend...and oh the wonderful innocence. I miss that! We are in the planning process of inviting a few friends over...I will be working so PF will be the guy (stuck) I mean : trouble shooter, brain stormer, gofer, clean up mess person...payback time.... it does come...........I jest..he actually enjoys all the crazy, loud noise, mess. In our family... WE must have patience...or insanity will start. I'm already there, so it doesn't matter...I don't count..OK?! I have to go order the cake...a manly cake...a grown up cake...mine are not up to the task. Although, this morning I was Mommie...he had a boo boo on the finger. I already have his gift..that is a feat right there! Poor guy he gets his wisdow teeth taken out the 7th so not a long celebration. I will have tons of homemade milkshakes waiting.......... Our favorite song was We'll be coming round the mountain...maybe I'll sing that to him as an ode to the younger years....
