Checking in

I am hooking this rug of mine as fast as possible but as usual it looks like I will not get it done by December 17th!  I am also trying to get all my quilt things done....who am I kidding????????
On another note,  Rotator cuff repair December 17, my dawling says lets plan a trip.....really....I mean really?!  Sooooooo, in a most sarcastic voice I said you know, why don't we plan to leave the 18th!  He said OK, you can sleep in the car??????
This is the same man that said to me, oh so many years ago (on vaca with the youngest barely 3 years) .......hold on to your pants now...I fell down a bunch of concrete stairs and realized if I didn't take the hit with my shoulder, my head would crack open and well, then we would have a mess....so as I am sitting trying to hold it together as the 7 year old was crying....the dawling said and I quote, "are you hurt, can you get up, can we go".  Now I had cracked the head of my humerus and torn my cuff and fractured my ankle.  We did continue on our vacation after the ED trip.....my sweet 8 year old would go in the shower and hold my elbow up so I could wash my hair,  at the time they thought my ankle was fine.....I knew different...when we finally got home found it was broken. So yes, we will be traveling after my surgery...apparently I roll that way.........literally!
the end........

It seems the dread has become reality

I have been fighting and hoping that surgery on rotator cuff would not happen.  Looks like it will anyway!  Nearly a year since the incident and the left arm has gotten worse.  Constant pain, decreased movement, the list goes on..........

So, I will be in a cast/sling for at least 3 to 6 weeks ...won't really know till the surgery.  I put it off till right before holidays in December.

My dawling, well, he thinks he will be helping etc etc...but the reality, not so much.  My sweet son #3 he will be my "nurse"!  We are already developing a plan of action.  It is the clothing situation...will not be able to move the arm so am thinking of getting a big garbage bag, cutting a hole for the head and the right arm...what do you think?  They come in all forms of colors...I could get Holiday saran wrap and put on my feet...festive...No?   I have time I could sew a garbage bag....BLAH!

Baltimore album

We had a wonderful getaway.....NOT long enough!   I fell in love with the quilt at Winterthur in Delaware

And....I could not contain myself...yes...I bought the pattern...I love piecing by hand....no machine...me...the needle...fabric and scissors.  I hope to start soon but then who am I fooling...I have 50 million rugs to hook and 10 million quilts to do...........one can dream! More pictures

The last is the best.....I love my dawling so much...he planned this for me...everything that I would love.  Everything!!! Old historic mansions, textiles, beautiful gardens, hand holding walks......even with my gimp leg and shoulder!

checking in.........

To see what is happening in  bloglandville.... .. ... Not much....decided against surgery, to many possible this and that might happenSo onward!
I experienced a steroid storm from so many injections, not pretty!  Think that was the last straw so to speak.  So, am going to suck it up and deal with it, that is my motto now.  I might throw in a pity party every now and then ...
My dawling is dealing with it, poor thing!

We are planning another cheap get away soon.  Looking forward to it!  Need to get back into hooking that big rug again! The Money pit has been calling of late.  We had to refurbish the deck, the ramp we had built for the MIL is now finally gone replaced with wider deck.  I really don't know why I did it as my "boys" informed me they do not plan to eat out there, bugs.  I bought a very cheap table...no chairs yet.

The old lady (money pit) is getting another face lift...these things are ongoing, age you know...I suppose like some get botox injections, she gets an update.   My bathroom downstairs will be gutted some time soon!  Think art deco small, white and black tiles.  I can not wait!

Back to blog vacation.........
